Another ESPY award coming to South Dakota

In case you missed this news yesterday, it’s worth your time to look into the story of Don Meyer, a Northern State University basketball coach. It was announced yesterday that he will receive this year’s Jimmy V Award for Perseverance at the ESPY awards next month. Meyer lost a leg to a near-fatal car accident last year and then found out that he had cancer. But he came back from all of that to set a record for career wins in NCAA basketball.

Last year, Wagner’s Ryan Kocer won an ESPY after he lost a leg in an accident and still managed to place fourth in the state high school wrestling tournament.
