Mass H1N1 vaccination clinic tentatively scheduled for Monday, Nov. 16, at Corn Palace

Local members of the media just got this e-mail from Corn Palace Director Mark Schilling:

The Mitchell area POD (Point of Distribution) will be meeting tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers to plan for an upcoming mass vaccination tentatively scheduled to be held at the Corn Palace on Monday, November 16.

We invite you to attend to get the latest information regarding the H1N1 and our planned event.

  1. and who goes first Seth? who decides? I have a medtronic heart card so there should be no doubt and if there is they will find out what a redneck is all about- be prepared

  2. The first and second target groups would be included. Here’s a quick description of who falls into those groups, from the state Department of Health:

    High Risk Individuals Eligible for H1N1 Vaccine

    · Pregnant women

    · People who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months

    · People aged 6 months through 24 years

    · Health care and emergency medical services workers

    · Adults 25-64 with chronic health conditions*

    (*asthma, diabetes, neuromuscular diseases, renal disease, cardiovascular disease)

  3. I am one of the volunteers for the clinic. Please remember that not a single one of the volunteers at this clinic was asked or helped make the decision as to whom will get the shots. We are told who will get the shots.
