  1. I don’t think it’s that bad. While neither you nor I are very excited about Kenny Rogers, I’d be willing to bet that his show will sell a lot of tickets. In past years, similar acts such as the Oak Ridge Boys and Glen Campbell have done very well for the festival.

Gary Allan will do OK too, I think, like Phil Vassar and Brad Paisley in past years.

As for Bjorn Again, the comedian and the magician, well, I’ll be really interested to see how they do.

  2. Personally, I like Kenny Roger’s music and will probably go to his concert just for old times sake. I also enjoy comedians and magicians so will also attend even though I have never heard of either one of them. The Corn Palace isn’t big enough for the big entertainers and everyone would complain about the cost of the tickets anyway. The Corn Palace Committee have their hands full with booking entertainment – good job!

  3. The first 2 posts prove that you can not make everyone happy all the time. Get real, enjoy the entertainment and the opportunity to see some class acts. If you don’t like it, volunteer to be on the entertainment committee and see how many people you make happy or how many slam you for your choices.

  4. I think it is a great line up for us here in Mitchell SD…Negativity doesn’t get you far. Be thankful, perhaps the ones who think this is sooo terrible should volunteer and be on that committee,Im guessing they won’t.

  5. Are some people actually complaining? I mean, do people understand the difficulty in signing acts to come to a town of under 15,000 people. Personally, I think they have done a great job these past few years in getting the names they have…sure I miss having a 80s band this year after being spoiled with REO Speedwagon, Styx, Night Ranger, and Rick Springfield the past few years and I know my wife has loved the country shows but we have had it really good around here. I don’t care much for country music but yet I am still leaning towards seeing the Kenny Rogers because he is such an entertainer and even the ABBA satire group sounds interesting….my hats off to the committee for doing a great job bringing the talent they do each year for I really don’t know how they do it and keep within the budget that they do.
