Attorney General Marty Jackley is in his first campaign for elective office but he’s an old hand at running.
Jackley, the Republican candidate for the office, was a star runner at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City. He earned eight letters in cross country and track. He’s highlighting that road experience in his debut campaign commercial, in which his resume is explained over video of his running on a lonely country road.

No word if Democratic candidate Ron Volesky is going to brag about his experience in sports. We know Volesky, who has sought several offices as both a Republican and a Democrat, is an experienced campaigner. Perhaps he’s also a softball star or pool shark.
